Keep Playing on Dinmont Estate
The play space and ball court at Dinmont Estate has been refurbished after Tower Hamlets Community Housing staff and residents were involved in writing a play plan for the estate and funding was given by The London Marathon Charitable Trust.
Children have been playing in the improved space since work finished in July and on Monday September 23rd the official opening took place. The event was to thank London Marathon for the funds that made the project possible and for residents to celebrate the improved space. The Marathon funds paid for new goals and markings in the ball games area, flat seated swings were added to the play area in response to children's requests at earlier consultations.
Chalk, inflatable balls, balloons, juice and of course cake were enjoyed by children and adults. Thanks to the Bethnal Green Area Resident Board for supporting the project and donating funds to pay for the opening event.
