Ring Pull Bling

Ring Pull Bling

Kitty, one of the PATH playworkers,  made  me a spectacular necklace.  It is a lovely thing and every time I wear it someone notices it is made from the ring pulls from drinks cans and asks me how to make one.

Kitty has kindly  created photos and instructions of HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN RINGPULL BLING just so that you can have a go at creating your own wonderful recycled jewellery.

Before you can do anything you will need to collect a lot of ring pulls. If you want a chunky necklace this will take ages so we suggest starting with a key tag or bracelet. Each link needs 4 ring pulls so we guess collecting at least 50 before you get going!

You will need:

·        Minimum of 50 ring pulls

·        Scissors sharp ones that cut well not the rounded ends ones

·        Patience

Remove tab can square by using the back of the scissors to get rid of the sharp bit and cut the thinnest end of the ring pull

Slide the cut onto others to create the link of 4 ring pulls. Keep the smooth sides of the ring pull on the outside to prevent scratching when wearing it.

Keep trying if you don’t get it at first.

After a little while you'll have created a small chain that will look like this.

You can connect a key ring to it for a unique way to find your keys.
